COBRATIG UPDATE FILES - VERSIONXM03G4
This CobraTig Firmware, Version XM03G4 has updated Auto Procedure Generating algorithms and is only used on those units with Extended Memory capability. Version XM03G4 can only be used in CobraTig Model 254-151.
This software eliminates the skipped Final Slope when using a 5003 CopperHead III.
This firmware update can only be used in those units which are 'XM' units. To confirm, preview the firmware version on the MAIN MENU screen.
This download also upgrades the MKEdit PC/Laptop application. Previous versions of the MKEdit application should be deleted and this included version, MKEdit-V21.exe must be used.
To properly perform this firmware upgrade, a Null Modem Interface Cable must be connected between the CobraTig and the PC/Laptop serial port. Follow the cable connection and CobraTig setup instruction in this kit. This can be purchased from MK Products: P/N 005-0323.
Instructions:
For easiest navigation, unzip file and save the "XM03G4.150" and "MKEdit-V21.exe" files into the same directory.
Double-Click and run the "MKEdit-V21.exe" application to start the SmartArc Weld Program Editor. To send the firmware upgrade into the CobraTig, select 'Send' and choose 'Send Firmware Upgrade to CobraTig'.
When locating the "XM03G4.150" file for upgrading, change the Files of Type: to 'Welder Upgrades (*.150)'. Choose the "XM03G4.150" file and click on 'OPEN'.
Continue with Firmware upgrade as instructed on screen on PC/Laptop.
WARNING:
Disconnect Null Modem cable prior to welding. Failure to disconnect cable can and will result in damage to the electronics of the PC/Laptop.
WARNING:
Installing new Firmware will erase any saved weld procedures from the CobraTig. Use the Communication Menu to save weld procedures onto PC/Laptop.
The files listed in the above text are only available via a written request by email. This request MUST included CobraTig serial number & current Firmware Version number.
